CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER, MIRANDA CREATIVE, INC. maria@mirandacreative.com
35+ years ago, with the ink still damp on her diploma, and with familiar headlines singing the doom and gloom of our economy, Maria established a unique advertising agency in what is commonly called "the other Connecticut." From one employee and the third bedroom of an apartment to 30 team members and clients in multiple time zones, Miranda Creative has grown to have the confidence of experience and the energy of a start-up.
The intensity of the past thirty-five years defies any bullet-pointed list of experience but includes every possible aspect of marketing and advertising that existed or newly exists. Whatever resources clients needed, Maria and the brand managers of Miranda Creative invented it, developed it, or relocated it to support client communities.
While Maria considers retained clients, client referrals, and successful outcomes the best rewards, peer recognition has been part of the past three decades including numerous community and philanthropic awards, metal-level recognitions in design, photography, videography, and total campaigns, as well as deeply meaningful titles including the citizen of the year for Maria's hometown region.
Along the way, Maria has been honored to be a TedX presenter, author, podcaster, and adjunct faculty in three undergraduate programs. You will sometimes find Maria sharing the couch with tv personalities, talking about privacy and social media or in Las Vegas speaking at the national convention of bar and nightclub owners with Jon Taffer of Bar Rescue fame. Most recently, in the heart of the pandemic, Maria and the team launched a new brand for CT Grown on behalf of the Connecticut Department of Agriculture while simultaneously creating a brand for the State's first paid family leave program, CT Paid Leave. A woman entrepreneur of Cuban heritage, Maria is passionate about diversity and the mentoring of young creatives for the best potential career path. Fearless, Maria walked the runway for New York Fashion week as a curve, mature model to encourage confidence at any size and any age in this era of photo filter perfection. You can find Maria, her black lab, # (hashtag), and her vintage motorcycle expert of a sweetheart @mirandacamera on Instagram.
